Hello, my wonderful Comedic Factor readers! Happy Good Friday and Happy Easter! Remember, Jesus is the reason for the season. What funny ratchetness will I be talking about today you say? Well, I find this particular topic near and dear to my heart.  Yup, that’s right…. Jamaicans lol. Yup, I said it. Jamaicans lol.

Jamaicans say and do some of the most craziest and funniest things ever and sometimes you just have to laugh at the foolishness. Most of the stereotypes about Jamaicans are true lol, and I can say this because well, my parents, my aunts, my uncles, most of my cousins and well shoot my whole freaking family is Jamaican lol. I am very proud of my Jamaican roots and I will rep them all day, but Jamaicans are crazy and hilarious at the same time.

So, when I stumbled upon a few of @DormtainmentTV videos with Comedian Mike Anthony a.k.a @Leaning Leon, I was dying of laughter in my seat.  Mike’s Jamaican accent is superbly on point and it’s hilarious.

In this particular video #CookinwithLeon, Leon is demonstrating how to properly cook the infamous Jamaican Ackee and Saltfish dish lol.  Two-thumbs up and a snap for Leon! He does a great job in hitting those stereotypes about Jamaicans on the nail. Kudos to you!

Top 10 common and very true stereotypes about Jamaicans lol:

  1. Jamaicans chew bones lol. #BOOM
  2. Jamaicans miss-pronounce words in the English dictionary all the time and expect other people to understand what they are saying . If you don’t understand what they are saying, then they look at you like you’re stupid.
  3. Jamaicans always make up words and claim they are in the dictionary.
  4. Jamaicans don’t pronounce the letter “H” when speaking.
  5. Jamaicans do this thing with their mouths (sucking of the teeth motion) for approximately 8 to 10 minutes, give or take a 1 minute for breathing. They do this when they are highly irritated. The process repeats itself, if irritation reaches a record high lol.
  6. Jamaicans put at least one Scotch Bonnet Pepper in every meal lol.
  7. If you are suppose to be watching a pot that is cooking on the stove for a Jamaican and you let the Scotch Bonnet Pepper burst in the pot, that’s the end of your life for sure lol.
  8. If you meet or know an older Jamaican, even if they are only a year or two older than you, your name will forever be “Pickney” lol.
  9. Jamaicans eat fried plantain and fried dumplings or boiled dumplings with every meal.
  10. Last, but not least. Jamaicans eat some form of fish on Good Friday because it’s good luck. Apparently.

With that being said, Happy Easter everyone! Don’t forget to channel your inner Jamaican today and eat some Ackee and Salt fish and Jamaican Escovitch Fish, in that order! #BOOM.
